Bathroom
Organizing - Tips to Stay Clutter Free
The
bathroom is often the smallest and the most cluttered room in the
house. Organizing the bathroom can be difficult when each time we
stock up on family toiletries or can’t resist another pampering
bathroom treat, the clutter just grows. No matter how little space
you think you have, there are options that can help.
Out with the old
Start by going through the storage areas that you have now. Check
all items to see if they are out of date or not looking too great
and get rid of them. This gives you a little more free space to
re-organise the things that are still usable.
Make best use of what you have
Whether you have a cupboard, drawers or sink vanity unit, use this
space in the best way possible by putting items that you use
frequently at the front and other items at the back so that you have
your daily items to hand without rummaging through everything each
time. If you have drawers, organizer trays can be an inexpensive
way to keep this space in order.
Extra storage
A quick way to add more storage is with shelving, not only is
shelving useful but it is also a colourful way to display some of
your nice pampering products. If you don’t have much room
elsewhere, shelving over the toilet can be a great way to add more
storage for toiletries, hand towels and wash cloths.
If
you have some floor space, baskets are also great storage solutions
to keep larger items in such as towels and for those of you with
minimum space, hooks are a great way to store robes, towels or
storage bags to keep other items neatly tucked away.
Cleaning products
If you cram your bathroom cleaning supplies in your cupboard under
the sink, try getting a cleaning caddy to keep this all together to
make a bit of extra space for other items. Even though it seems
logical to keep bathroom cleaning products in the bathroom, they may
be better stored elsewhere with your other cleaning products to free
up some vital space.
Countertops
It is easy to let surfaces in your bathroom get cluttered and the
key is to ensure you only keep the minimum number of items out. If
there is something left out which is not used all the time, put it
out of sight and ask your family to put it back in it’s new home
after it is used. If you have enough space, you could consider
giving the family a drawer each or their own bit of cupboard space
to keep countertops free of clutter.
It
may be a bit more difficult to keep the bathroom organized than some
other rooms, since everyone uses it. However, if everyone helps
keep their own things in order, it will make it that much easier.
